Why squirrels eat Aluminum wire

Why do squirrels eat Aluminum triplex? I have see this 3 or 4 times in the past few months the POCO has been changing the Aluminum triplex out to copper triplex they say that the squirrels want eat the copper. Have any of you heard this?
