I still like pop in bushings better, and as long as it's stapled, I don't see a problem with it. Oh, and apparently the problem our inspectors have with mc has something to do with rusting,... and yes, even in dry locations, and yes, even with 6 ft whips

m.c. cable has an aluminum jacket not steel.

Why should that make a difference? If it's UL listed, they shouldn't be able to tag it on inspection. That would be like if an inspector didn't like back stabs so they red tagged you every time you did it. I mean, I don't like back stabs either, but it's kinda hard to complain about it when it's an approved means.

If what they 'want' isn't amended by the city (town) then they are abusing

the power of their position. Go to the building dept. and get a list of all the

'amended' changes for that city. Sometimes you can get them online!!

You said rust was the issue with M.C. cable, I was pointing out that M.C. has an aluminum jacket which doesnt rust, I have no clue what differnce that would make anyway, it sounds like your inspector is an idiot....

Maybe the MC you install. Unless you ask, you may just get aluminum by default at the supply house. I have a roll of 12/4 MC sitting in my van right now, and it's steel.

I have seen steel AC cable, but all MC I have ever worked with has had an aluminum jacket no matter where I have bought it, maybe its just luck of the draw...
