Good question. What most call "carbon fiber" is actually a carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Its conductivity would depend on construction details and percentages.

I use pure carbon blocks to conduct welding current from a bench to a weldment, and this is at relatively low voltage.

but to note, if the caliper is 4" long and you measure a 2"dia wire, the caliper in whatever location/position its in is now 6" long, so you have to be careful because of the extra stuff sticking out. but if its a dedicated $4 tool for just doing wire mic'ing then nip it off, etc.
