Thats why I dislike when guys drill holes in bottom of boxes as well, if they just thread sealed the ko's, it wouldn't be a problem.

I disagree, the cover plate gasket is weak and over time the receptacle moves when used making it worse, plus the landscapers always aim the sprinklers right at the box.

and what about the conduit feeding the box? even condensation will eventually fill the box up if it cant get out? of course it depends upon how it is run, but I have always drilled weep holes and never had a problem but them we don't run into that many killer spiders either LOL

Ants or bees will always infest a box with a hole around here, I thread seal the ko's, and have never had a problem... i've never had that much condensation fill a box.

I've never had an issue, but I can tell you this, drill a hole, and it will be full of something, usually ants.

NICE, you have those giant ants out there don't you? we just have the tiny ants here, they look like coffee grounds. I usually just leave the bottom KO loose. They seem to drain fine that way, plus I put duct seal on all my underground pipes. It sure is cheap enough, I also use it in weather heads, one dollars worth of duct seal and no wasp nests, spider homes, water leaks, etc.

We have black ants, red ants, mud wasps, etc... :) I duct seal my conduits as well... especially if they enter a structure, box to box underground, usually not concerned as much.
