I apologize I didn't state the walls were concrete in my original post. I want to thank everyone for their input. This is a great forum and I'm happy that I posted the question here.

I agree that wood would be a non-grounded surface. I do not agree about the sheet rock. But I have no fact to offer to support that opinion. I will say that if I needed to construct a surface that would allow me to use the Condition One distances, I would not choose sheet rock.

Since the wall is concrete then I change my answer to condition 2 (3' 6")



I still do not consider a receptacle to be an exposed live part.

I concur as well on both issues.
