Wondering other thoughts on estimator xmas bonus. I know it's just that and I'm always grateful for whatever I get but is your opinion that is should be based, at least to a degree, the profit of the jobs the estimator bid? I had not deal or agreement upon hire regarding this. I know PM also plays a role in the job outcome. I had a pretty good year and closed about $$23M in work and the jobs made about 25% profit withe one $2.3M job making about 50%.

Unless you have something in your contract, or hiring papers, a Christmas bonus is just a gift from your employer. You can't expect a gift. Just be grateful you got one, or if you don't get one, be grateful you have the job!

As a municipal employee, I get Christmas Day off with pay. Used to get a $25 gift certificate but that went goodbye about 20 years ago. After 36 years of employment, thankful to get my paycheck. Luckily government shut down does not impact me.
