I am not arguing if the table applies but don't understand some peoples' math using table 220.55 with note #1 on a 12.5 KW load

from note # 1 Table 220.55

12.5 KW - 12 KW = .5 KW
5% x .5 KW = .025 KW

8KW + .025 KW = 8.025 KW = 8025 W

8025 KW / 240 V = 33.4375 Amps

If you use the major fraction concept: ie round .5 KW up to 1 KW

5% x 1 KW = .05 KW
8 KW + .05 KW = 8.05 KW
8.05 KW / 240 V = 33.5416 Amps
