I'm not sure what you mean " not to try and compete"
If I want to live and work in this area I have no choice.

I made the post because I could not believe my eyes.

I did a better job my very first install at a family owned building I had rewired. I did not have a good job at the time and a buddy heard that a EC was looking for help. He stopped by while I was working and Hired me on the spot I worked for that guy on and off for ten years.
