This is more of a thought why these days might be a good idea to use 14/4 Romax for a shared neutral circuit one white and one gray
 
If the circuits are on a GFCI and/or AFCI breaker, you will either need separate neutrals or a 2 pole breaker. This relates to your other thread. It is a design decision.
 
I'm in favor of these cables (12-2-2) for AFCI/GFCI home runs especially for things like the kitchen where you'll need multiple 20 amp circuits.

While that always applies to GFCIs, in many cases two single pole AFCIs with handle ties can be used for a multiwire branch circuit.
