We did most of our overhead services in Cu. Never used SE cable that I can remember. It was still relatively reasonable at that time.
Probably depends on the route, utility company, and date. Take my house and my parents... both are Cleveland Electric Illuminating, but I've got buried aluminum, they have aerial copper. Mine was built in '78, theirs in '65.?? How many dwellings have Cu Service Conductors?
All the new stuff here is UG laterals, tails from the meter/main are short.?? How many dwellings have Cu Service Conductors?
Menards is now up to $130 AR on 12/2. Home Depot is now $146. Menards This is a $20 jump from last week.Menards is $110AR on 12/2 250'. Menards is always the cheapest anywhere on NM, UF, and THHN. But their AL is about twice that of the supply houses for some reason. Menards never dropped their AL wire prices from covid levels.
Same here as well. Menards actually had 250’ coils of 12/2 as low as $129 just recently. Add the 11% to that and it’s quite attractive. The price of 250' of Romex 12/2 and 14/2 hasn't changed in months. I just left Lowe's and HD. This thread started July 8, I don't think the MSM or I understand how tariffs work. Have y'all seen any change of price?
Any service I run that’s over 10’ I run aluminum, under that it’s going to be copper. Very rarely will I have an overhead service. Power company started charging the same to connect either way. They hate overhead services, and when the customer can get underground for the same price, they go with it.?? How many dwellings have Cu Service Conductors?
