Same nightmare, only different direction....
Do you know about the Magic Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead? Can you imagine wat a nightmare it would be to reverse that?

Can't put two "C"s together to go CCW instead of CW? I know y'all adopted the metric system so y'all would not have to think as hard but gee-whiz!Do you know about the Magic Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead? Can you imagine wat a nightmare it would be to reverse that?
I think the roundabout is evidence of the cart before the horse.... I know y'all adopted the metric system so y'all would not have to think as hard...
Commonly, but incorrectly, known as metric. You can buy a metre of silk. You can't buy a metre of milk. The units are SI.Can't put two "C"s together to go CCW instead of CW? I know y'all adopted the metric system so y'all would not have to think as hard but gee-whiz!![]()
Metre, theatre, centre... You Brits need to learn to spell.Commonly, but incorrectly, known as metric. You can buy a metre of silk. You can't buy a metre of milk. The units are SI.

Then explain how Arkansas is "ark an saw".I prefer these words spelled with the vowels and consonants in the order you say them.
You don't say "centray" and "metray", you say "center" and "meter".
You still sound them out in the order in which they occur. Then explain how Arkansas is "ark an saw".

Yes, we do have some odd pronunciations on both sisdes of the pond. You still sound them out in the order in which they occur.
It is just the pronunciation of some of the letters in Arkansas that seems non-standard to you.
How about Sriracha, the spiced sauce, in which the first R is silent? That comes from the original (Thai) spelling, transliteration and pronunciation.
BTW, what bothers me most is that Kansas and Arkansas come from the same Amerindian root, but are pronounced differently.
And of course in the UK you have Featherstonhaugh.
Anyway, we can laff about it.
Very good..................
Over some ghoti and chips!
I'll even ̶b̶y̶ ̶b̶i̶ b̶y̶e̶ buy!
How did you apply that strike-through effect?... ̶b̶y̶ ̶b̶i̶ b̶y̶e̶ ...
How did you apply that strike-through effect?
Dude, you are the internet MacGyver.I went to https://www.piliapp.com/generator/strikethrough-text/ to generate the text (using, I believe, HTML escaped character sequences or maybe character entity codes or even Unicode) and pasted what it generated into the text entry window.
There is no tool in the Forum software to apply that effect (the ones that you can apply make use of [] formatting tags).
Instead the raw characters contained the strikethrough.
Someday I may fire up my HTML debugging tools and see what it actually did....
I was not optimistic in advance that it would work, but I seem to have lucked out.
