Paul your sink and counter could be located in a laundry room, would you say kitchen spacing requirements and kitchen GFCI requirements apply in this laundry room?

Re: Butler Station

Some additional items to think about.
1. "210.52(C) Countertops. In kitchens and dining rooms of dwelling units"...

So countertops in dining rooms need to be assessed the same as in the kitchen.

Countertop spacing is not a requirement for commercial or other kitchens.

Small appliance branch circuits as per 210.11(C)(1)
are a requirement for dwelling units, not commercial or other kitchens.

See, a dining room is bland enough that noone will ever care about it's definition. It's a room with four walls and a light that you'll hit your head on if there's not a table under it. The dining room is covered--it's got it's requirements spelled out fairly well.

Now, the "sub-kitchen." That's where the action is. Doesn't make butlers or maids upset. "Hey, sub-person. Get into the sub-kitchen and get me a beer." :)

May God bless every heart that has replied to this post?

?JW, this thread's direction is in no way trying to come down on you or blow the question out of proportion.?

I have in no way been offended by any comment of any post. The purpose of this or any other forum is to place an opinion so others can elaborate and express their opinion about the matter. Where I stand this is known as learning and I have learned a lot from this post. I thank each and every one of you for responding and hope and pray that it has been as rewarding for you as it has for me, again thank you.

Tomorrow this post will be assigned to the class for each student to prepare an answer as to the proper way to install the circuits for this ?room?. The great part about this assignment is the only requirement for a good grade is participation.
