Cord Cap for MC cable?

All of the third party companies selling them for AC and MC don't understand the difference between armored protection of the plug and armored cable.

But to answer where the anti-shorts are required, then no.

UL QCRV is the category that includes Armored Cable Bushings, with no distinctions made between AC cable, or MC cable.

NEC requirements for Armored Cable Bushings only appear once, in Article 320 of the NEC.

..the insulating bushing or its equivalent will be visible for inspection.
