those stickers are along the same lines as guys who have a huge ford logo sticker on the back window of thier ford truck........
obviously you can tell that i do not use them. i do infact use the "main disconnect" stickers that come along with mdp's. all those levers tend to overwhelm joe homeowner when sparks are shooting out of his loaded up 20 space plug strip....
those stickers are along the same lines as guys who have a huge ford logo sticker on the back window of thier ford truck........

All stickers that come with GFCI's go directly into a trash barrel.
The ones that are the most useless are the "No equipment ground" ones. Does any layman know what that means? :roll: I can't believe they waste good ink and paper to print those.

Unfortunately those stickers are required by the NEC for two wire replacements.

I know just what Jim is squaking about there is nothing in the nec that says stickers need to be applied,manufacurers package supplies but says nothing about them to be affixed
To those that don`t have to deal with rear retentive inspectors I say count your blessings.When a beautifull rough is tagged for bending radius of NM and all it was that the roughin guy pulled his wire tight going through a bored hole into a box

I must be the only smart @$$ who, when is brought out to help our residential department, digs out the stickers and purposely sticks them on the GFCI protected outlet. I feel it's my duty as a lektrishun to do so.

My response would be that the presence of the sticker does not guarantee the GFCI protection. Otherwise we could put on stickers and not have to supply the GFCI's.

Larry that is useless without a meter on the house remember we get a underslab insp if applicable then a rough then a final the meter might be 3 to 7 days out depending on time of year.So to plug a gfci tester in all it would do is nada,nothing

As far as the generator are you going to sit there all day waiting for an inspector that stands a 50% chance of rolling the inspection anyway.
I`m not sure what the inspectors work load is where you are from but our inspectors get 40 to 75/day.If I called them amd said I have a genrator so come on over they would have to find the nearest restroom to get over it

My take was always that when downstream protecting the 2 wire receptacles from a gfi, both stickers were required to be affixed to the two wire receptacle outlets. GFI protected outlet sticker, and no equipment ground sticker. Did I add something to the codebook here?.

Does it matter the homeowner will still gripe as she scrubs those stupid stickers those darn construction guys put on her cover plate

You could and should bill them but collecting would cost you far too much.How much do you think the owner will remember after the walk thru ? Best you can do is hand them a page at the closing exsplaining the electric.I too keep all the extra sticker i find.Fight the inspector every inch of the way and he will do the same.My goal is to get a job finished.passed,safe,working.Not about to fight with them over something so easy.Perhaps they put them stickers in the box for a reason
