Please see post #5. I have 120/208v three phase but 550.4 says article applicable to 120v. Would 550 be applicable to 120/208v?

90.2 Scope.
(A) Covered. This Code covers the installation of electrical conductors, equipment, and raceways; signaling and communications conductors, equipment, and raceways; and optical fiber cables and raceways for the following:
(1) Public and private premises, including buildings, structures, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, and floating buildings

If your trailer has a vehicle title and is covered under the scope of the NEC and it is not a recreational vehicle
including campers than it is covered under article 550

550.4 General Requirements.
(A) Mobile Home Not Intended as a Dwelling Unit.
“Where different voltage is required by either design or available power supply system, adjustment shall be made in accordance with other articles and sections for the voltage used. “

Since your trailer is covered under 550.4 not intended for a dwelling unit other voltages are exceptable

And so are fuses needed or not?

Would the feeder conductors be protected from the breaker through the disco to the remote building without fuses?

That I am not sure 80 feet away other bldg would feeder cables still be protected or another overcurrent protection needed?

I’ m not sure what a fuse being needed means, Unlike 225.36 statement of service rated, an article 550 disconnect states the disconnect with in 30 feet of the mobile home needs to be service rated

Keep in mind there is a possibility Art 545 applies. The simple word "trailer" can lead you into various Code possibilities,

It is my understanding article 545 does not apply to vehicle titled structures looking at the scoping provisions for the NEC it seems to me it would fall under article 550

90.2 Scope. (B) Not Covered. This Code does not cover the following:
“ or automotive vehicles other than mobile homes and recreational vehicles “

Here is where we are at:

Breaker in panel protects feeder. Fuses not needed to protect feeder.

Disco is planned and needed. We haven’t discussed where the disco is located or its rating yet, as you noted.

We just got to the fact 550 applies to 208/120.

We do not know if panel has OCPD or if required yet, fuses may come back into play.....

Disco is gonna have a GES, but have not discussed trailor yet.

I believe there is something about the EGC that needs to be discussed.

See what I am trying to do now?

You got it wrong. Please re read post #1. Disco in question is not service disco, fed from feeder circuit breaker on panel #10 customer owned 80 feet away and the disco is next to trailer. Load side of disco is feeding the trailer.

This is copied and pasted from 2008 NEC check the section and see if it is the same in 2014
550.32 Service Equipment.

(A) Mobile Home Service Equipment.
The service equipment shall be permitted to be located elsewhere on the premises, provided that a disconnecting means suitable for use as service equipment is located within sight from and not more than 9.0 m (30 ft)

I typed quickly, I know all this.

So, does 550 apply even though you have 208/120V?
