How else would you ground a metal cover?
How else would you ground a metal cover?
I believe that is the first receptacle I've ever seen done that way. What brand is that?
When the plate attaches to the yoke. Unless you see something that I don't.
WITHOUT that strap.
200.9, 200.10(B), 250.126
No , that receptacle is not designed to be terminated as you suggested.
seems to be XIONGDA
Maybe China?
WITHOUT that strap.
So how do I ground the yoke if I don't have a ground in the box?
So how do I ground the yoke if I don't have a ground in the box?
Leave the strap attached.
Hence why I ask. Green neutral, strap... I want to know if UL cares. Because if they do that UL listing would not be valid.
My point is: Without the strap, the yoke cannot be grounded. When the yoke isn't grounded, a metal cover can't be grounded. You then have exposed, non-current-carrying parts that aren't grounded.
I am sure UL cares. All we know that UL stamp on the device could be home made.
