How to Advice from AOL

FWIW, I sent an email to AOL about it around 7:00, letting them know it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
I thought of many ways it could have played out when my horns were fully extended
I pictured a fire and Eric getting sued for everything he owns

then being a fairly new dad I chose to save the idiot from himself and enlighten AOL to the numerous code safety OSHA, Nfpa 70e , Nec violations
as well as homeowner with 2 left thumbs issue killing his family in a fire to try to save a couple of hundred bucks with Eric Stromer possible legal issues.
Totally disreguarding the possibility of electrocution which would still be present.
So I did the right thing and notified the proper authorities of the situation
should they disreguard this sound advise god help them if someone gets hurt attempting this task.
And just pray that no unsuspecting innocent little kids get hurt by something like this.

I think that even suggesting that an "unqualified person" perform this work under nfpa 70e would be in violation of federal law to perform such work. He should be arrested in my opinion.

Anybody confused by 3 ways?:D

Wow thanks for that . After all these years I've been wiring three-ways
all wrong. It's a 12/2 supply,14/3 travs,12/2 switch leg. I guess
you can teach an old dog new tricks. I can't wait to see the next
installment so I will know what the OCPD (oops I mean fuse size) is
for the 12/2 supply.:D

I am not kidding now who enforces federal nfpa 70 e because these people should be arrested. Period. Or is this all just a joke where only we have to comply to annother unenforcible federal agency. The 3 way guy too they can share a cell.

The thing that I don't understand is why AOL would post these videos on the Internet without first having a professional review them. The video is only a few minutes long and there are certainly a lot of electrical professionals who could have reviewed and pointed out the errors in a short amount of time.

Yeah, the world is full of these idiots. It's gonna take a lot of numbers to take them all down.

You gonna volunteer to review the billions of videos out there in cyberspace?

Volunteer? No I'll leave that job to someone else. Point is AOL is in the information business and it's in their best interest to provide accurate information that won't get someone killed.

FWIW electricity does go to earth.

Yep. All those electrons want to have lunch at the Electron Cafe. :D

"The neutral takes a while to get back to the panel, but the ground gets there instantly"?????

Now, if we could just combine Eric's hair with this guys' tats, we could get some serious electrical work done! ;)

I must be very weird because I have no idea why all you guys care about what AOL or the people that decide they are qualified to do their own wiring do.

I never knew I've been slowing electrons down, by forcing them to travel
on a neutral wire back to the earth. Maybe my neutrals are full of
pot holes, school zones, stop lights, and too many Electron police
with radar guns.

Yep your weird, but not because of the AOL thing. :D I agree with you though, I could care less what people do... I've yet to watch one of the posted videos.

In my anecdotal experience, the vast majority of people are scared to death of electricity and would never attempt any type of wiring project. For those that do, they can buy "Wiring 1-2-3" and have at it. I'm not going to stop them.

I was thinking the same thing.

The responses here are a little over the top imo.

I've seen far worse from "qualified electricians" that what that guy did and let's be honest, what we do is not rocket science.

Where can I find the code prohibiting fixtures mounted below 7'?
