This is true I caused a lot of chest pain when I razorbladed the brand new handles off the pliers in front of about 6 electricians. They just didnt understand and were pained watching it happen. I like blue better than yellow.

Kleins, with the dark blue handle. The fish tape puller is fantastic. Ever try to pull a wet/lubed/dirty fish tape with none but your hands?
I always get a chuckle out of guys when they struggle pulling [steel] fish tape with their hands and/or resort to their Kleinsmen when the reel is right beside them.

I agree...by far the best way to pull the fish tape is with the fish tape reel itself.

I guess I would not last long.

Me either.

How else am I supposed to fish a 350 foot run when the vacuum doesn't work?

Two tapes on reels, one not on a reel so it can be 'caught and released', that being caught from one end and released from the end it was fed from, and some fancy bending the aforementioned reel-less tape along with my patented jet line connection method and viola, we have a pull line!

I have used Kleins for years and just got a great deal on a new pair of Channel-loks. I won't know for a few months if they are as good as Kleins, but I am pretty hard on the Kleins, too. None of mine will cut wire anymore. Some strip wire just fine.

i use the klein journeyman's series (blue/black handle).

where are you guys getting these new grips i see mentioned? that's my only complaint with them is that the grips will slide off.

I just shoot some silicone inside the grips when they slide off and slip them back on. Wipe off the excess silicone and you're done. I've never had them slide off after that.

I assume you mean RTV silicone rubber or something similar (e.g. silicone-based rubber caulking). Silicone grease does not cure, and would actually make the grips slip off easier in use.

You can get them just about any supply house. The grips only slide off if you don't boil them long enough first or wait too long after you do.

I like the kleins with the blue and black handle. I've got a set of yellow and black handles but don't like those as much (not as fashionable:D). My brother bought me a set of tools from Snap On. He gave me a SnapON pair of linesmans. Those pair of pliers have the hardest jaws on them. They are also significantly heavier than Kleins and are more than twice the cost! The weight is a little irritating to walk around with all day in your pocket.

Why do some of you guys use replacement handles (the ones you boil?)??

I bought a pair of the blue and black handled journeyman's everybody keeps mentioning, and the grips were falling off before I even had them broken in. I got some of the boil handles and I've been hooked ever since.

I just remembered that I have those Ideal pliers too. I forgot I had them because I never use them. I use these for crimping, though I doubt they are listed for use with any of the crimps I use them for:

We call those Sta-Con pliers around here!
