G3GUY,
I see you are from Maryland ,I am in Rockville Md.
I work for Truland Systems ,Do you work for yourself, or are you affiliated with a local contractor ?
Just Curious ,do you primarily work in DC and Virginia ,seems most of the big work is in these jurisdictions ,the new stadium, theres a big convention center starting in PG county ,Also metro is doing major renovations currently ,Good work ,all rigid pipe ,RHW conductors

Re: Neutral on the ground bar?

I don't see the difference between a do-it-yourselfer and the-other-guy-did-it-himselfer.

Anyone can now post do-it-youselfer questions by claiming it's already done, someone else did it. It seems most of us here feel that there ain't too much difference. I think the ones who think it's okay, are the ones who think do-it-yourselfer questions are okay. I'd rather not have them but I don't get my pants in a knot about it. And i have no feelings one way or the other about those who do not share my opinion, but I'd rather have it consistent.

I think there is an adjunct to this that is also worth putting in the mix: we are often allaying fears of the homeowners when we say something about a practice to them, or we are telling them to get real serious about getting a real electrician to look at the item (s). I don't think we should get into the fray with homeowners about their contractors and/or electricians. We may be getting bad descriptions, incomplete descriptions, just slightly skewed ones, and maybe even outright lies. We may be be doing them and their contractor/electrician a disservice.

If we are going to give out advice to the public, and for a few here that might be expert advice (not me), or to a canny lawyer, or even straight up to a lawyer, we ought to get something for it. Lawyers pay tons of money for expert advice, witnesses, common practice, risks, hazards, etc. They should pay the site something, buy Charlie a tee shirt for Christmas; get all of us coffee cups after so many posts. :D

Attention, people of earth: bow down before I, even I, the humble deity of all things electrical, before I smite you with my mind-crushing intelligence and wisdom. Thy time is blighted, for behold, I will lurk again, and your pathetic ignorant lives will be once again cast into the shadow of my glorious posterior....

"I have forgotten more than everyone on this forum will ever know"

If this was true he would be lieing in a comatose state with a stick in his mouth to keep him from biting his tongue off and drool oozing out of his mouth onto his straightjacket
but the fact that he managed to register and post
tells this electrician that he's either -
1} lieing
2} Trolling websites to try and get a rise out of people
3} expressing rancor

Re: Neutral on the ground bar?

You guys need to lighten up. If you look at the number of posts some of us losers have here you will see that there are some who spend way too much time on this site. :) So you newbies grab a root beer, relax, stay a while and stop taking yourself so seriously.

G3Guy you da man!

Oh and one more thing, look up sarcasm in the big book with all the words.

I must've read that darned code book from cover to cover three times and I still can't find the article about sarcasm! Give me a reference... or at least a hint! Is it somewhere in Grounding and Bonding???

So, what? You sayin' I don't have a personality or a sense of humor? You want a piece of me? I shall smite you like you never been smote, Electricmanscoot, (if that's what your name really is) and you shall pity the day you questioned my overwhelming preponderance of forgotten code knowledge. Fah!

Wecome to the Stupidest comment ever posted in this Forum Contest!

I'm glad to announce We've got a Winner!

Congradulations G3Guy, you have made a complete fool of yourself in front of virtually Everyone in the World! Your childish comment "I have forgotten more than everyone on this forum will ever know." has earned you your very own 15 minutes of fame... sort of like the pathetic losers you see on COPS but fame none the less! Congrats once again, oh, and wait... here's your sign. :D

Hang in there G3Guy, puberty can be kind of confusing. ;) Someday, when you grow up, you'll understand what I'm saying, but for now it's off to bed for you little man, it's after 9:00!

I feel dirty.

I was born with a wirenut in my hand. That's when I became electricmanscott

This was during the great pickle shortage of '70. Mom had no choice but to eat green wirenuts to satisfy her prenatal cravings.o

I can't imagine going through tough times like that... and living to tell about it.
I'm sure you've got plenty of stories.
