We don't get to ask such questions, we just have to accept that the companies making these items are doing it for the good of the world and not for them to make more money.
If we question it is because we just don't care about doing a good job. :roll:

Actually, the KC was invented by Wayne Robinson, a MD electrical inspector, who then made a deal with M&W to manufacture the item. They now OEM to folks like Garvin, Arlington, Halex, Galvan, etc. Not exactly a big company just making useless products, and getting code changed to require the item.
