My help was standing near the chattering starter and it coincided with that.[/QUO

1) is there filter around that coil? contacts? rc? mov? other? diode? cap? if not, why not?

2)why the he11 is it chattering? fix that!?

and remember, I am an EC, not an industrial electrician that lives and breathes this stuff 24/7. I am just as likely to be called by an elderly woman suffering from early onset dementia to fix a non existent attic fan.

The 130v you mentioned for surge suppressor in earlier post is its maximum operating voltage. Its clamp voltage is different and higher. May be given on name plate. What is its value?
