What is happening to New England? Are we really going downhill that fast?
Your not alone, every vendor we buy from has had an increase in prices, and our volume is down 70 to 80% of 2 years ago, but the good news is I think we can all make it thru if we all refuse to do business with the banks and business, that practice greed.

I'm probably not far away myself. I work for a residential service company, and the phone (in spite of my boss's best efforts) is simply not ringing.
Monday - 4 hours

Your doing better then us, we had 4hr all week and today 0 Bob will do ok, good electricians will always be needed, and electricians like bob who go the extra mile, are hard to find.

I was not alone and this was not the first round of layoffs.
That said, the situation is simply lack of work coming in, they had to do what they had to do.

Bob I am also sad to hear that news, your company has made a big mistake IMHO. I do hope there is a re-hire clause open to you.
If my contract bid here wasn't in limbo I'd be honored to hire you.

That stinks Bob. Sorry to hear that. They made a big mistake. Kind of like when they sold off Babe Ruth.
I just stumbled on to this....ouch...sure sorry, dad gum ir-responsible bankers causing all of this, they should be put in jail.....geez.... hope it wont last long....your talented, hope you find work soon....

I was surprised to see your post, but not shocked.
I am also sorry to hear this news.
It really does say something about our industry and the economy as a whole. It would seem from your previous posts about your work and company that you may have survived this economy.
I can say that it does not look any much better here in southern NY. Our inspection company is getting slower each week, not to say that getting paid is not easy as well.
I think that some lose site of the fact that not only are jobs priced lower, some are not even receiving full pay on that either...a real problem that looms to get worse-soon.
Good luck Bob and the others here who may have had the bad fortune. I wish you guys all the best.
