I agree it's nice to get a good laugh once in awhile too, but (not to pick on this thread in particular) constant silliness does get old, and does nothing to help the image of a professional forum.

Bill, I would agree, even though I'm guilty of clowning some myself. What kind of rubbed me wrong was invoking Mike Holt's name.
If you ("you" in general, not specifically you, Bill) want to make the site more professional by cutting down on the silliness, fine, it makes sense.
If you want to invoke Mike's name and talk about how it is a reflection on him, then where is all the outrage over the foul language used on this site? "*"s don't do such a great job most of the time and you should be able to find alternative words anyway. I'm sure this filth would be just as offensive, if not more, to Mike as he seems to be a man of high moral character.
It just seems a little strange to crack down on some jokes when the foul language is no less unprofessional. Would you do that in a professional workplace?
Perhaps we have become numb to it in this day and age and like to look down from our lofty perches and claim some higher standard on one hand but ignore the other.
I have seen many posts cleaned up by the moderators, and I'm certainly thankful for that, but there are many times the language is overlooked. You know the moderators have seen it because they are responding to some of the posts.
If you are going to clean house, then don't just sweep half the floor 'cause you are only going to track dirt back on the clean part.
Please don't take this as jab at moderators.
Sorry about the rant, I guess I'm just more offended by the bad language than the humor.
