How much did that wrap run you? that's a sharp lookin Sprinter...

who provided the racks and bins?

I custom designed them and they were manufactured by Hackney...the same people that make the complete truck bodies. The entire rack system cost less than $1000, plus the bins. It is actually less than what I would have spent on Adrian Steel or MasterRack

that's true...we paid about $1400 for the setup from american van...dodge wanted about $2400 installed for the setup from Adrian...

but I like the set up you have...

Shhhhhh.....you might give some other contractors some ideas...sharp advertising, neat, well stocked trucks, the offer of impeccable service...it's just not the norm for our industry. ;)

Thanks, it cost ALOT, but it sure turns head. The installed cost was about $4,600.

Thanks, I am gonna look into that when I get a new van, the van I have now is getting old, and definitely not worth that kind of money. Heck, the van isn't even worth that much when I got a trade in value.

Yeah, but he's right outside Baltimore. That's the sort of market you need to support that sort of operation.

Hey, romexking, you're just down the road a piece from me. How 'bout that.

That looks like an ESI rig, no?

I am an ESI member, and I recommend the pricipals it teaches to anyone, although it is not a magical money maker in and of itself. There are many other lessons to be learned from other sources.

Yeah there are several forum members within shouting distance from me. I'm located in Carroll County MD.

No doubt. As I live near the city in the 'burbs, I'm not adjusted to the "country" way of thinking about work.

Not to change the progression of this thread, but I always privately thought that one of the back room goals of ESI would/could be to cultivate Mr. Sparky franchisees. Even if that's not the case, I still think ESI is a good thing. I've tried several times to join their forum, but they won't validate my user name. Not sure what the scoop is there.

Only within the past couple of days have I considered it. When I take into account that turn-key business model franchises have a failure rate of less than 25% compared to an 80% non franchised small business, it gets my mind working overtime. Even with the ESI model, it is not an easy task to run a business, but without ESI I would have been out of it by now. My internal systems are still in their infancy, but they along with my field procedures and pricing system have allowed me to only be in my office for 2 days since. Dec 6th. My wife has been in the hospital since then with a critical medical issue, and I have been taking care of my kids, and traveling to DC to the hospital. Without those systems in place, my business would have collapsed by now.

(there is no need to boo hoo for us yet, it is probable that my wife will survive, but will not be home for about 2 more months)

it's not in the back room any more. Mr. Sparky is just another path you can take to success. Mr. Sparky franchisees do not have to be an ESI member first, you can give them a call and they would be glad to consider your application. As for the non ESI member forum, you are not missing anything...it is completely dead!

Well, I know for sure you use the Manchester EW branch, based on the "MAN" sticker on the GE box. How's that for detective work? ;)

Yeah, good work. It's funny that all the guys blur their name and license plate. As if we couldn't track them down if we really wanted to.

Only the cheeky ones replace the characters with Wingdings...

I'm a fan of the plain white truck, except for the fact it shows dirt and people write goofy messages on it
