Have any of you guys ever actually wired a house? Thousands of houses every year get framed and rough wired and then get rained on for days at a time.

Speak for yourself. Buildings of all types are NEVER wired here until the building is weather tight. We will install raceways and do slab work of course before they are sealed, but never install conductors until it's closed in.

you wire a house without it closed in around here and the wire will be gone by morning

I think I see why we are all disagreeing. I'm talking about the planet Earth. You guys live and work on a planet where it rains acid and electricians never wire houses until the exterior finish is complete. LOL.

Acid rain man-- where are you from.

Seriously-- I would not worry one bit about the water in this situation. Listen to me-- I take full legal and professional responsibity.

Yeah, that's it. Or maybe it could be that things are done differently where you live. On this side of planet Earth, we don't wire buildings until they are closed in. ;)

Pete, I do it all the time, usually windows are missing, the roof is generally on though...

Interesting, you must be on the other side of the line where we don't do that. ;) Again, I've never worked on a job where there wasn't some kind of weather tightness to the building, the roof and sheathing or block walls being the main ones. Maybe a few holes here and there but not the kind of thing that Fire Alarm is talking about.

I like them rain tight, but only as a preference, who likes getting wet?

I just learned that Rhode Island is the state with the longest name in the US. Pretty cool!

Yup, longest name and smallest state. :) We're also right on par with you guys on the west coast with taxes and high cost of living too!

You might think about going back to school....both New Hampshire and Massachusetts are longer than Rhode Island.

Gee, I don't know Celtic, you might wanna hit the books yourself. ;)

In case anyone is wondering, The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations is the official name.
