Vinyl siding, yuck. Best thing for buildings with vinyl siding is to call the fire dept. for a practice burn.
Don't tell that to people buying the houses. But then again there are three types of houses that people buy. Starter homes, investment homes, and the ones people hope to have when they retire.

I don't know what is worse, vinyl, or hardboard, AKA "Masonite", there is product that is worse called Cladwood, think particle board between paper but don't think it is even on the market anymore.

I'm not following this statement. Half the houses in this area have vinyl siding, many worth well north of $1M. Can you elaborate or explain?

I'll agree that Masonite siding is awful. Not familiar with Cladwood.

Who else ever had 'insulbrick' on a house? Was all the rage 80 years ago, asphalt siding with asbestos embossed to look like brick and installed as siding. Future slums.

Yep, it was on the house I grew up in. The FHA pushed that stuff for financed remodels. When I got the house, I tore it off.

Hardie Board, if that's what you meant. It's not the same as Masonite at all. It's a concrete type siding. Masonite is just a wood composite similar to press wood. A "mushy paneling", if you will.

Just being a nit-picker. Are those conductors from SE Cable with the sheath removed (not that I wouldn't do it)? Are they marked?

Looks like Tri-plex or MH feeder (without the ground). I think it's dual rated like USE-2. They are usually individually marked.
Larry would have to tell us for sure.

Yes, they are from SER. The insulated neutral looks so much better than twisted bare from SE.

Well, the neutral is marked. It has three white stripes on it. :sneaky:

I have done this many times; it has never been questioned before.

(I mean by an inspector, not you guys. Y'all question everything.)

I will wait and see if Larry can find dp 30 CH breakers. Maybe he doesn't need them but from what I heard they are virtually unavailable

I've got them. How much?? Just kidding, Larry can have my supply at cost. And, as I said, I have NO issue with the conductors, I just wondered if some Inspectors might.

They'll be BR, and there are plenty here, but, I won't need any. I will be re-feeding the laundry sub-panel with a BR260, which are also in stock, and I'll need one BR115 and three BR120s.

They do have CH230 breakers in stock here, too.

Masonite, & hardboard are the same type of product, just like a Twistlock®, & a locking plug, the brand name & the product type. Replaced some failing hardboard with Hardie board, & Hardi plank, on my rental made a run down looking building a decent looking place.
