While it does not meet the current requirements for such installations it is quite possible it did when it was installed. The pop bottle cover added to a compliant installation does not make it non-compliant IMO.

Formerly feeding the grow lights in the attic? Is there an abandoned water line up there too?I'm not sure but I think this might qualify for this thread. Found after demoing a soffit. The best part is that the spliced wire goes up into the attic and is just capped off with wire nuts. :?
