Good Zinsco Replacements

My point is if a customer wanted circuits added to a Zinsco or FPE and they refused an upgrade the job had to be turned down. That might not matter if you have 100 other jobs to take, but when things are slow its extra $$$ you could have made.

I still respect people's views not to touch Zinsco.

What do you do if the new circuit being installed requires AFCI protection? Run to Hardware Hank and ask for a Zinsco AFCI circuit breaker.:slaphead::rotflmao::roll::rotflmao:

Is this commercial or residential? I've noticed FPE commercial grade bolt on breaker panels to be ok. Not sure if that applies to Zinsco.

My understanding is that FPE commercial was never called into question... that is unless you count this

*The thread is about residential

FWIHR&H, The Zinsco bolt on commercial stuff seems to be fine.

Remember when I mentioned earlier in the thread that I installed a Pushmatic breaker recently? That circuit needed AFCI protection. It just so happens that circuit went without it.

Your choice not mine. Is your work being inspected?

Bolt-on Zinsco takes care of the problem w/ the plug-in style, but the only breakers available are used & really expensive, like $140.00 for a 2 pole 20A, the breaker was older then the 1976 vintage Sylvania panelboard it went in.
